About Tim Sullivan

President and CEO, Municipal Strategies & Solutions, LLC

Tim founded Municipal Strategies and Solutions in 2019 and has an array of municipal and nonprofit clients. He has over thirty years of progressive financial analysis and control background with municipalities, large corporations, nonprofits, and "think tank" academic research organizations. He served as Director of Research for the prestigious Citizens Budget Commission in New York City. Prior to this assignment, Tim was the Vice President/Director of Finance for the Nassau Health Care Corporation where he was responsible for leading the external audit of the Corporation’s financial operations, developing and reporting on the entity’s $550 million budget, and heading all capital financings. Prior to that position he served as the Deputy County Executive for Finance in Nassau County managing a $3 billion budget that included 8,000 employees.

Tim also served as the Director of Financial Planning for the Long Island Power Authority, which owns the electric transmission and distribution system on Long Island that delivers power to more than 1.1 million retail customers. Prior to that position, he was recruited to head revenue and economic analysis for the Nassau Interim Finance Authority under the leadership of Frank Zarb, former Chairman of the NASD and the NASDAQ Stock Market Inc. In 1996 Tim was recruited to serve as the initial director to head the budget office for the newly created Nassau County Legislature, which represents 1.3 million residents. He has also performed research for Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates.

Tim holds a master’s degree in International Economics from Fordham University.
